You can crop, which takes away part of the picture.
You can use software like IrfanView (free) to re-size your picture or pictures in batch. Lets you do a lot more than re-sizing BTW.
Easiest is to use a screen-grabbing software, one that allows you to set the area. This had the advantage to reduce your size to screen resolution, which is all you need. I use FastStone Capture (but that is not free anymore). Lots of others out there though.
Thanks Danny! I'll check them out!
Trying to set my profile and cover pic to style #2 by following instructions to embed code in my blog. I must be technologically challenged. LOL. Any help?
You are not challenged. The styles should work fine on an external blog. Internally we have a site-specific issue with the profile styles. Hope to be fixed soon.
Thanks for the info! Look forward to the fix! (My cover seems to look at my profile, w/style #3? and it seems the shoreline has washed out to sea. Lol!)
For your cover, you might want to add an image which is "landscape" in format. Then you should be able to "shift" it around to suit. (worked for me)
Sadly my landscapes are too large in file size to post. I'll have to figure out how to crop them. 🙂
