Sorry, I hit post too quickly. The original article went into a little more depth and said the county Sheriff’s department was considering charging him with lewd and lascivious behavior. Ergo, the question on the first post I did.
“I have seen these people stand on their front step, buck naked, both of them, and talk to a police officer, sheriff department. The sheriff’s department told me to turn my head,” Good job.
The news story interviewed a young woman with children who catch the school bus there. She said she has no problem with the man being naked or whatever. Its the old childless woman who complained.
My home state, WA, has similar laws. Naked is not illegal by law and court decision. Sexual behavior while naked is illegal only if it knowingly will cause someone to be alarmed. Lots of the US is like that.
I spend my summers in Twisp WA. The folks who own the farm my RV is parked on don’t seem to mind me sunning or doing yard work around the place. Even offered the use of the hammock on their front porch. The house in town is a little less inviting. Maybe a fence this summer so I can play with the dog π
I’ve checked for my home state and everything I read seems to indicate that they CAN tell you to either get dressed or go inside, and will likely let you off with a warning unless you are a frequent offender. I go out in my Speedos, and I’m pretty sure I offend with those, let alone in the buff.
Couldn’t agree more. The same applies to women (or men for that matter) with bits of string tugging in their fat deposits all over the place. When they’re (we’re) naked they (we) look so much better. I tried explaining this to my ex-wife and she didn’t get it all, the only thing she was concerned about was covering up the genitalia. Nothing else really mattered and she was most obsessive about it.
I wished nudity was allowed here, I live in the Bible Belt. I bought the house from Mr Speedo. He wore nothing but a speedo in the yard. Every neighbor came and THANKED ME for buying the house. If they only knew.
People have been taught to be very narrow-minded. We have a long long way to go.
Folks should leave neighbours alone and let the live peacefully & quietly. No one is harmed, no one is forced to look into neighbouring property. If people object to nudity they should be made to bathe or shower with clothing on !

Here are a couple of links that put the Florida in a different context:

Here is a link to one of the original articles written in Sept. 2018. https://www.orlandosentinel.com/opinion/audience/david-whitley/os-ae-nude-florida-neighbor-david-whitley-0920-story.html
Is it OK to copy and paste this article on FB since I don’t have the original link?

I’ve read this before and it is a good example of peoples morbid fear of nudity. Did anyone ever hear how this was resolved?

Puritan idiots are everywhere, unfortunately it’s the loudest who get listened to most of the time.

My wife told me a potbellied ole bald guy looked worse in Speedo than naked. They came off and stayed off π

Ha ha, the irony. Well hopefully they will soon find out, *progress*, and that will at least give everybody a community talking point. π
