I went to hospital for my head x-ray and all is clear so today I am getting on with work that I have no excuse for avoiding, fighting back the encroaching weeds from a spare plot of land next to our garden

The Swedish battering ram is thirty years old this week, it is in better condition than I am at present.

I used to own a 240. Best car ever.

I used to do accident recovery along the A3 out of London in my younger days and call me a liar but I can tell you trees and brick walls would jump out of the way of 240’s and 144’s when they saw them coming.

I owned a 142 (many years ago). The car never ran perfectly, but also never failed to run. I like the “Swedish battering ram” terminology.

The problem is we can buy new parts for the cars. We can’t for our bodies.

I had the good news from the nurse today ,no more bandages, my fingers are well on their way to healing ,I had the stitches out my head a few days ago every thing is on the way to getting back to normal and I am also carefully backing off on the pain killers

Just a quick recap regarding my accident now that I am at home from hospital after my fall the splitting head aches are subsiding but one thing is a surprise, in my right hand you can see a get well card from my bank manager…..does she know something I don’t.

I had a nice swim this morning at the beach the water was not very warm but comfortable came home had some lunch a couple of glasses of a reasonable Bordeaux then spent the after noon in the garden. A private garden in the countryside and naked life could be worse.

I am hoping to repeat the the same thing tomorrow but for a longer time. There are several tolerated beaches near Roscoff that need investigating. I don’t want to you make jealous, I like to share my photos as well as to see those of other people, and of the places they visit.

For a retired engineer who has worked with dangerous steel cutting machine tools all of my working life what do I do but cut the end of my fingers nearly off on the bl**dy lawn mower. I was very lucky otherwise there could have been some cheap guitars for sale

Ouch. A friend of mine once fell over backwards while lawn mowing with a rotary (spaceship) mower while wearing SANDALS. Yep, as he fell, his foot went up into the spinning blades. Fortunately the blade cut right through the sole of his sandals, rather than the top of his foot!

Thank you all for your best wishes but I think there is a basic safety issue with these mowers they should have a centrifugal clutch so that when it is just ticking over stationary the blade is not turning.The nurse said I was not the first to do this and most likely not the last.

Had my first swim today in the sea some thing that I haven’t done in March and it was most enjoyable. In the photograph you can just see the marina at Roscoff

Rewiring the sky dish so make sure the work area is clear and safe no loose clothing to get caught in the power tools and insulate your feet against wet grass
