While the freedom that comes with being at the place, time and in the right company appeals to me regarding naturism/nudism, I like to believe that it is also associated with my political beliefs and I feel supported by an explanation in the definitive book about the socialist youth organisation that I belonged to, in the Netherlands, when I was a boy. It tells about how among the leaders who established the A.J.C. (Arbeiders Jeugd Centrale = Labour Youth Centre) encouraged their young children to be nude – again when it was appropriate because it highlighted that we are all (only) human and constructed as either male or female and we all have that in common. But, apart from the way it takes away so many differences regarding social status, I simply DO love nature's elements on my skin.
