I have never considered myself a naturist, but I am naked a lot at home (because I hate the restrictiveness of clothes), always sunbathe naked (at home and abroad) and always skinny dip. I love being naked for the freedom and health benefits of fresh air and sun on skin. But I have never associated myself with naturism, probably because I am half German, lived 20+ years in Germany and have the German view on nudity – for me it’s a natural state, nothing to do with sexuality and very freeing. In Germany I went to wellness / health spas regularly where it is the norm to be naked and which are open to the public with no need for special memberships. In Germany the term FKK (Frei Körper Kultur) is used, which I find a much better definition – free body culture.
