In the first years of marriage my wife and I had a substantial amount of nude time, but with the exception of camping, never more than a few hours at a time.  Even then, the longest time was for the most of three days on a camp-out.  As kids came along and they got older, the time got less and less…until one day.

I had been in a wooded area in a t-shirt and small nylon gym shorts making my way through chest high brush.  What I was unaware of was that mixed in the brush was a substantial amount of poison oak, which I am acutely allergic to.

The result was that 90-95% of my body ended up being covered with poison oak.  I went to the doctor who gave me the strongest thing known to medical science for poison oak and it worked wonderfully.  Within a couple of hours I did not itch…as long as the affected area did not come in contact with anything… including clothing.  Immediately, it was fully acceptable to be nude as it was due to a medical condition and no one thought anything of it.  This continued for a full week and I was almost over it when I put the same shorts on to go out front during the day and that was when I discovered that the shorts had not been laundered enough and some of the oil was still present and I was re-infected.  The good side of that was that it meant another week of no clothes.

When friends would call about coming over, I would tell them the situation and give them a warning, ‘I will be nude and as long as it doesn’t bother you, it doesn’t bother me.  Only one person did not come in and that was the wife of a friend I had only met once prior to that.  Another friend’s wife brought over their baby daughter for us to babysit and one of her first comments was, ‘Mind if I look?’  During that time numerous friends and my mother all came over and there was absolutely no issue with the fact that I was nude and no one was uncomfortable with it.

All in all, it was a most enjoyable experience and it only made me long all the more more to be like that all the time.

It’s not that I am recommending getting covered in poison oak, but it is one way of being in a nude state and seen as if not normal at least acceptable and natural.

It’s wrong,” neighbor Charlie Estes told WPBF-TV. But police say they can’t do anything about it. As long as the man isn’t touching himself inappropriately, police can’t tell the man to put his clothes on because he is on his own property. “I have seen these people stand on their front step, buck naked, both of them, and talk to a police officer, sheriff department. The sheriff’s department told me to turn my head,” Estes said. WPBF-TV asked for an interview with the man, but he declined because he says he is a very private person.

I have been long frustrated by not being able to work in our front yard in my preferred mode of undress as we live in the city and at an intersection.  A few mornings ago I happened to awake shortly before 5:00 am and discovered that it was surprisingly light at that time.  I proceeded to go outside and wander around the yard and down the sidewalk and thoroughly enjoyed the freedom to do so in relatively light conditions. 

I decided to get up early the next morning and go do some yard work in the front yard in the manner I always wished I could.  I had been busy for some time working away and not paying that much attention as the neighborhood was quiet and we are at the bottom of a hill with a retaining wall around the front of the property resulting in being a bit above street level.  As I was working away, something caused me to turn and look towards the street and I discovered what I believe was a man, I couldn’t tell for sure due to the hat the individual was wearing, but he or she was about 20 feet from me looking somewhat dismayed.  I looked at whoever it was and went back to my cutting and he/she walked away at some point without saying anything.  I don’t know if the person was more caught off guard by discovering me working nude in my yard or the fact that I was in that mode while cutting away some Blackberry vines that had come up through some of the bushes.

I went out this morning and dug up a couple of bushes that had died and replaced them all the while being more comfortable working in my front yard than I have ever been.  How I wish that was possible any time of day.

I keep seeing an increase in the number of notifications I am receiving but until the web site is adjusted, fixed, changed, or whatever it takes, I can neither access, see or respond to any of them.  I just wanted to let people know that I am not ignoring what you may be saying or asking, but I have no idea what it is at this time and until the site is corrected, no way of knowing.  Thanks for your patience.

A number of years ago a very dear friend of mine who I have a close brother/sister relationship with, went through a series of abuses by her then husband. 

He had raped her near the end of their marriage and sexually abused one of their daughters, which she learned about later. 

After their last child had been born at home with a midwife, he had 6-8 male work associates that over to the house and was showing them the photos of the birth.  At first, my friend was alright with that and then she realized that they were simply passing around numerous extremely explicit photos of her lying nude on the bed fully exposed, before, during and after the delivery and she was the only woman present.  She suddenly felt very exploited for valid reasons and she became more and more uncomfortable with being nude, even after their divorce. 

They had moved out of state, but we kept in close contact by phone and e-mail.  As I said, we have a very close brother/sister relationship and consequently talked extensively about what had happened and the psychological and emotional effects his abuse had on her. 

During our conversations, the topic of nudity came up and we talked about my being a nudist which did not bother her.  Over a period of time, we talked more and more about it and along with encouraging her to try it herself, at one point I offered to e-mail her some photos of myself that I thought she might enjoy where I was doing various things around the house, including a humorous painting accident and she said that she was interested.  At no time did I ask her to provide any photos of herself.  I later included a few photos of my wife where we had gotten  horrendous all-over sunburns.

She began to get more interested in being nude around her house but was currently living with one of her adult single daughters and was wondering how to handle that.  I suggested that she simply take a shower with the door open and when she was done, dry off and not bother to put anything on when she came out to go to the kitchen or her bedroom.  She tried that and was very happy that after an initial mild shock, her daughter was alright with it.   After that, she began spending more and more time nude at home.  

After a number of months, she planned to come back to see us and some of her relatives and I had talked to her for some time prior to this that whenever she came out, I would take her to a secluded mountain lake I love to go to and would take her skinny dipping, and she was favorable to the idea. 

The time came that she did come for a visit and I took her to the lake and as soon as we were out of sight of the campground on one side of the small lake, I began to take my clothes off and she did not hesitate to do the same and we hiked on to the smaller lake that was our destination.  We spent the rest of the day swimming and hiking nude in the woods.  When we returned to my rig, we didn’t bother to put anything on until we got all the way back and then even though we walked through the camping area and we were parked along the only access road to the main parking area.  It was done nonchalantly and with disappointment of having to get dressed again.  Thinking back on it, getting dressed was the very last thing we did after putting things away, getting some water to drink, etc. all the while standing essentially along the road, putting it off as long as possible.  There was no traffic, but there was also no fear or concern and while we would have heard a vehicle coming, we would not have heard someone walking our way and did not care at that point.

She told me that I was the first man in her life that had ever wanted her to be nude and not have a sexual motive behind it.  After that, she became an advocate for nudity and even took her daughter skinny dipping in a river near their home when she got back which she enjoyed as well. 

The most important thing was that she told me that because of that experience at the lake, she regained her self-confidence and self-acceptance.  She thoroughly enjoyed the freedom and lack of fear that she experienced and she also liked the level it took our friendship to by not hiding behind clothing but being completely open and unguarded with each other.
