The full Monty
April 28, 2013 in Uncategorized
In 1998 I was on a nude cruise to see the solar eclipse off the coast of South America.
One night we had a show and I was asked if I would be willing to be in the grand finale. Why not? I did.
Our act was to do the final scene of the movie "The Full Monty". As the scene was shown on screens in the auditorium five of us dressed in shorts, button shirts, and caps came out on the stage.
Our first move was to do a muscle pose and then remove our shirts, twirl them in the air and toss them into the audience.
After doing that we turned around, dropped our shorts, removed our caps that we held in front of us as we faced the audience, twirled our shorts in the air, and dropped them behind us.
Our final move was to hold our caps up in the air.
Introduction

Greetings all
I would like to introduce myself to the other members of this group
My name is George Winlock and I am currently living in a clothing
optional resort in West Virginia. My first public nudist experience
was when I went to a nudist campground because I wanted to swim nude
like I used to at the YMCA before it went coed and required suits.
I am a member of a number of nudist organizations, have attended many
of the TNS Gatherings/Festivals and have been on nude cruises.
I really appreciate Richard setting this group up because I don’t feel
that there is anything wrong with the naked body and we should not be
ashamed of it.
“Body shame, like prejudice, is not natural. It is learned from others
and benefits no one.”
My First Nudist Experience

My first real nudist experience was in 1994 when I went to a nudist
resort because I wanted to go skinny-dipping like I used to at the
YMCA before it went co-ed and required bathing suits.
As a child I had been taught that one did not go around in front of
other people without clothes on. Changing in locker rooms was ok as
was swimming nude with other males, but in mixed company certain body
parts should be covered.
As I was not sure how I could be comfortable nude in front of other
people for an extended period of time for no reason at all I practiced
by going around my home nude even when I did not have to be.
When I arrived at the resort I was met by a nude man in the office who
registered me and gave me the information on the resort. I was then
directed to a parking lot where I was met by another nude man who was
going to give me a tour of the place. I undressed before the tour
because even though no one knew me, I was not going to embarrass
myself in public by looking out of place.
My tour ended at the lake and because my reason for going there was so
I could swim nude I went into the water.
Later I took a short walk on my own. As I passed other people a smile
and “Hello” was in order, the lack of clothing was of no significance.
I returned to the lake for more swimming and sunning.
Before going home I took a warm shower in the round building that
housed the showers. As the shower and adjoining hot tub made the
drying area humid, I went outside. That did it for me. I was dried by
the gentle breeze and the warm sun. That convinced me that this was
how we were meant to be. There was nothing disgraceful about being
nude. I completed the remaining visits and interviews as soon as I
could and became a member.
Little did I know at that time how much I would enjoy the comfort of
being nude. Since that visit I have joined a number of other nudist
organizations, attended a lot of nudist festivals, gatherings and
other events. I have been on a number of nude cruises and now live in
a clothing optional community where I can be nude all the time except
when it is too cold to be nude or I am going into town.
Telling Others you are a nudist
March 26, 2013 in Uncategorized
I think a good way to tell other people about the fact you are a
nudist is to kind first find out what they feel about nudism. One way
is to ask about skinny-dipping because a lot of people have done that
and usually do not have the negative reaction to that that many people
do when they hear the word “nude”. If they have an immediate reaction
along the lines of “that is disgusting” you may well want to change
the subject. However if they have a more positive reaction you may
well want to expand on that until you gradually inform them of the
fact you participate in nudist activities.
Obviously now that I am living in a clothing optional community where
(weather permitting) I can go around nude as much as I want, my family
(Mother and two married sisters) know I am a nudist.
Long before I moved here I told them about the fact that I was a
nudist and went to nudist events because I wanted them to hear the
story from me in the way I wanted to tell it and at a time that I was
comfortable telling them. I did not want someone else taking that from
me.
So one time when I was visiting one of my sisters and my Mother (along
with other family members) the subject of my tanned arms and face came
up. I told them that I had been going to a place where I could sit in
the sun and get a tan as well as swim and I had an all-over tan (no
tan lines).
I did not start with the ‘skinny-dipping” idea because I did know that
while they were not nudists themselves they were open-minded enough
that they would accept the fact I am a nudist. They may not like it,
and they may not do it themselves, but they would accept it.
My other sister found out from me sometime later and she thought it
was absolutely great. Again she would not participate in it herself
but she not only accepted it but on a later visit (when the weather
was warmer) invited me for a swim in her pool. The pool was in an area
secluded enough so I did not need a suit even though she and her
husband did wear them.
I am not ashamed of the fact that I am a nudist and I did not feel
that it was an aspect of my life that I should keep hidden like I was
ashamed of it.
Both my sisters and their husbands have visited me where I live now
and are glad to see how happy I am here but while they may have told
their friends and neighbors that they have visited me I really doubt
if they told them about the fact that it was at a nudist resort
